Heliox presents fleet charging solution ‘VersiCharge Blue 80A’
As Heliox writes, the VersiCharge Blue 80A system is designed to deliver up to 80A AC, or 19.2 kW power output, to help ensure that fleet operators can keep vehicles moving and reduce operational downtime. The system provides power between 12A to 80A “to easily accommodate varying power needs across fleet and facility applications.”
Furthermore, the system features Level 2 charging capability via a J1772 connector and a 24-foot cable, this solution is compatible with most standard EVs, electric trucks and school buses.
Heliox specifies that its safety standards are also state-of-the-art: “Safety remains paramount, as the VersiCharge Blue 80A holds multiple UL listings and carries a NEMA 4 and IK10 rating to ensure exceptional resilience against extreme temperatures, humidity, and physical impact.” This is backed by a 3-year warranty.
Additional safety features include built-in ground fault and overvoltage protection, which Heliox writes shields both users and vehicles against electrical risks. Multicolor LED indicators provide feedback on charging status, connectivity, and fault diagnostics. Furthermore, “advanced OCPP and ISO15118-2 user authentication deliver enterprise-grade security and fleet management capability,” as Heliox writes. Notably, the system is also cleared to operate at altitudes up to 6,562 feet (2,000 metres), allowing for operation in relatively high-altitude areas.
Most recently, Heliox launched its last charging station with 44 kW and V2G capabilities towards the end of last year. This followed an announcement in the summer, where Heliox stated it was working on a V2G charging solution together with partners. A series of bus charging depots was also built for First Bus in 2024, so the company has experience with fleet charging operations. To consider, Siemens only acquired Heliox in 2023, however, the company has been active in the charging industry for some time now, marking its 100th DC charging solution installed in 2022.
