Wearnes Automotive, which represents various luxury and exotic car brands, from Volvo Cars to Bugatti, is the official distributor of Firefly in Singapore. The company has opened a Firefly showroom at 28 Leng Kee Road, a prime automotive retail strip in the south-central part of the city-state, where it has multiple other high-end car showrooms.

Firefly has launched its first EV for a price of 169,999 Singapore dollars (approximately 112,700 euros). The figure may seem unusually steep, as it is nearly three to four times the price in European markets such as the Netherlands and Norway. However, the price includes the cost of a Certificate of Entitlement (COE), a mandatory permit required to register a vehicle in Singapore, which in some cases can exceed the price of the vehicle itself.

The electric hatchback features a single permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, producing 105 kW and 205 Nm of torque. As the power output falls below 110 kW, buyers require a Category A COE to register this model, which is typically the lowest-priced COE category for passenger cars and, based on the latest bidding round, costs 109,501 Singapore dollars (approximately 72,600 euros).

A 42 kWh LFP battery pack powers the rear-mounted PMSM, and it supports charging at up to 11 kW (AC)/100 kW (DC). It charges from 10% to 80% SoC as quickly as 29 minutes, and on a full charge, it delivers a WLTP range of 320 kilometres. It supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) bi-directional charging function, allowing customers to power external devices.

Wearnes Automotive handed over eight units of the Firefly EV to a group of customers as part of the first batch in Singapore. Globally, Firefly has sold more than 40,000 units of its first model since its launch in China in April last year. In Europe, in addition to the Netherlands and Norway, the company offers its small EV in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, and Portugal. In the future, it plans to expand its presence to Thailand and Costa Rica.
