Thailand: Changan holds overseas debut of the all-new Nevo Q05
The company has confirmed plans to build the second-generation Nevo Q05 at its Rayong factory, which would make Thailand the model’s first overseas production site. It has started accepting reservations while it prepares for the start of production. Currently, it manufactures the Deepal S05 at this facility with approximately 60 per cent local sourcing for domestic and export markets, including the UK.
The all-new Nevo Q05 measures 4.43m in length, 1.85m in width, and 1.6m in height, with a 2.73m wheelbase. It offers 450 litres of luggage space, expandable to 1,380 litres by folding the rear seat, as well as an additional underfloor storage compartment of 90 litres. It does not have a frunk, however.
Changan has announced the all-new Nevo Q05 in Thailand in a single configuration. A permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the front axle produces 120 kW and 190 Nm of torque, enabling the EV to reach 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 160 km/h.
A 51.9 kWh LFP battery pack powers the motor and delivers a range of 462 kilometres, as per the NEDC cycle. Customers will be able to charge it at up to 6.6 kW via AC or up to 162 kW via DC. Charging from 30 per cent to 80 per cent state of charge (SoC) will take 15 minutes. The compact EV also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) bi-directional charging capability.
Changan will launch the all-new Nevo Q05 in Thailand with features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, a 256-colour ambient lighting system, a 10.17-inch digital instrument cluster, a 50-watt wireless smartphone charger, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also offer Lane Centering Control (LCC), Lateral Deviation Control (LDC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), a transparent chassis view, and several more advanced safety systems.
Following Southeast Asia, Changan plans to launch the all-new Nevo Q05 in Europe at the end of this year. The company will market the Euro-spec version as the ‘Changan E06’ and use a combination of a 200 kW motor and a 61.7 kWh LFP battery pack, chargeable at up to 11 kW (AC) and 162 kW (DC). It is targeting a WLTP range of 450 kilometres for this more advanced configuration.
