Linde to close FCEV sharing BeeZero in Munich

Linde’s plan to promote fuel cell cars through a car sharing offer has failed. The company has announced that the BeeZero service in Munich will close on July, 1 this year. Users may rent the 50 Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell until June, 30.

Fuel cell car sharing: BeeZero, Linde’s FCV rental service has started as planned in Munich. The German city now counts 50 Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell among its own. Official start date for the fuel cell car sharing is July 16 with both Linde and Hyundai hoping to roll out the service in other cities as well.

Electric freight trucks: California is awarding 9m dollars to the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), which is to replace 27 heavy-duty diesel tractors with electric ones by BYD. The two types of electric trucks will be used at freight and rail yards and could become best practice.

More money is to be poured into CHEAPR, also known as Connecticut’s Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate Program, which has been prolonged for another year with another million dollars. Buyers of fuel cell vehicles get a 5,000 dollar rebate. EV and PHEV receive 3,000 dollars.

Tesla airport transfer: Montréal’s electric cab service Téo Taxi added ten Tesla to its fleet, which will be stationed at the airport of the Canadian city. As things stand, the pilot project is to end by November 2017. Until then, the EV can be hailed via app with pick up at Gate 6 of Trudeau International.

The order from the Taipei Environmental Protection Department takes effect immediately as Taiwan is to strengthen electric transport. So far, only 0.6% of motorised two-wheelers are electric in the nation.

Romania update: As reported, German retailer Kaufland wants to install EV fast-chargers at some of its locations in the Eastern European country. The first of ten planned stations has no gone online. Moreover, Kaufland added 18 e-Golf to its fleet.

Electrifying Mumbai: The Indian city wants to add 25 to 30 all-electric buses to its fleet in the coming months, converting some if its diesel-buses to EVs. It already received a grant from the central government to fund its undertakings.

Queensland plugs in: The Australian University of Queensland has installed four Tritium fast-chargers. The latter are powered by the sun and are free of charge. All four fast-chargers have an output of 50 kW.
