Tesla has opened its platform for repair and maintenance information to third parties after several complaints to the EU Commission. Independent car repair shops can now access the information without restrictions. Meanwhile, an investment firm has greatly increased its Tesla shares.

Tesla can start preparations for its battery factory at the Giga Berlin site in Grünheide ahead of schedule. Tesla has been granted a provisional start for the work upon request, according to a BMWi spokesperson, although this is in itself not a building permit.

Jobs at Tesla: Giga Berlin hires for cell & car production

Tesla has begun hiring staff for battery cell production at Giga Berlin in Grünheide. Reports say the company would also look to finding personnel in vehicle assembly starting in January. Up to 7,000 employees would then help build a slightly modified Model Y for the markets in Europe.

BASF breaks ground for cathode plant in Germany

Tesla delivered 88,400 electric cars in the first quarter of the year despite the Covid-19 crisis. It is significantly more than analysts had expected given the current situation, although it is less than in the final quarter of 2019.
