Tesla drops right-hand drive Model S & X models

Tesla has decided not to produce its Model S and Model X as right-hand drive models. This affects the markets in Great Britain, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand.

Previous reservations of the vehicles will be canceled or pre-orderers will have to make do with a left-hand drive model. Alternatively, discounts of £2000 (€2000 in Ireland) are offered in credit towards on the Model 3 and Model Y are also offered in some markets.

The company wrote a statement via email to reservation holders, explaining that orders will be refunded. “Due to recent changes to the vehicle program, Model X will not be available in Right Hand Drive. Unfortunately this means your order is unable to be fulfilled and will be cancelled. You will receive a full refund for any payments made. We understand that this may be disappointing news to receive and want to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
