Ballard and First Mode convert more mining trucks to FCVs
Ballard Power Systems will supply 30 fuel cell modules with a total capacity of 3 megawatts to First Mode to convert diesel dump trucks to combined hydrogen-battery propulsion. The converted dump trucks will operate at First Mode’s test site in Centralia, Washington State.

BHP orders electric mining vehicles from Sandvik
Mining company BHP has ordered eleven electric vehicles from Sandvik for its Jansen potash mine in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. These are ten battery electric vehicles and one wired electric loader, which are to be delivered between 2023 and 2025.

Anglo American presents fuel cell heavy-duty mining truck
Mining and resources group Anglo American has unveiled the prototype of what it claims is the world’s largest hydrogen-electric mining vehicle. The nuGen dump truck combines multiple fuel cells with a 1.2 MWh battery pack for a total output of 2 MW and can carry a payload of 290 tons.

Unicon & Volvo Trucks collaborate on electric concrete mixers
