Toyota invests in May Mobility e-shuttle start-up
Toyota has just led May Mobility’s B round financing totalling $50M, which also included BMW iVentures. The financing should allow the Michigan-based startup to expand every aspect of the company and its autonomous electric shuttle fleet.

France: €200M to launch & legalise autonomous shuttles
France’s Transport Minister Élisabeth Borne has announced a plan to develop transit with autonomous electric vehicles. The government intends to invest a total of 200 million euros in tests with self-driving electric shuttles in 16 areas of France and to create the legal framework.

CA: Keolis & Navya launch first autonomous shuttles
The town of Candiac in Québec will see the first real-road trial of autonomous electric shuttles in Canada. Setup by Keolis using EVs from Navya, the trial will run over 12 months. The shuttles will serve on public roads on a 2-km stretch.

ZF and e.Go form e.Go Moove JV for electric vans
German supplier ZF and Aachen-based startup e.Go Mobile, that also worked with DP/DHL on the StreetScooter, have set up their planned joint venture e.Go Moove to produce electric vans from 2019. ZF is careful not to rival existing clients but is hoping for fast synergies and autonomous tech trials.

Electrify America to enter car sharing
The VW subsidiary founded in the wake of the diesel scandal has announced plans to open an EV car sharing service in Sacramento, starting with 260 vehicles. The company is also investing in a budget car-sharing service and electric buses in the region for a total amount of $44 million.
