Mercedes significantly raises electric car sales
Mercedes-Benz was able to increase sales of its electric vehicles in the first quarter. Sales of battery-electric passenger cars almost doubled to 51,600 units (+89 per cent), while van sales rose by 22 per cent.

Mercedes opens battery assembly plant in Alabama
Mercedes-Benz has opened a battery factory near its US plant. However, the plant will not be manufacturing cells, as only purchased cells will be assembled into ready-to-install batteries for the EQE and EQS SUV models. A US cell manufacturing operation by Mercedes will be done jointly with AESC.

Mercedes EQS faces limited recall in the USA
There is another recall for the Mercedes-Benz EQS – albeit only in the USA and only for 24 units of the electric luxury sedan. Incorrectly screwed ground connections could lead to increased electrical resistance, which in combination with high electrical currents increases the risk of fire.
