Los Angeles first electric buses to hit the road in March

The city of Los Angeles will receive the first of a total of 155 electric buses to be delivered over the next two years starting in March. The procurement is part of the Californian city’s plan to fully electrify its bus fleet by the start of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

LA targets 100% electric vehicles by 2050

Los Angeles Mayor, Eric Garcetti has just introduced a target for the eradication of CO2 emissions in all transport, housing, industrial and governmental applications by 2050. By 2025, electric vehicles in the city shall increase by 25% and 80% by 2035.

Is the essence of L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti answer to Trump’s plan to eradicate Obama’s climate change policies. Garcetti spoke in the name of 75 U.S. city chiefs, while others tweeted they’d go to Supreme Court to overturn the ecologic negligence.

Dutch Liberal politician Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy in a draft report following the EU parliament’s investigations into the VW diesel fraud. It blamed the delay of stricter emission testing on EU executives protecting the car industry and calls to install one commissioner responsible for both air quality and the source of pollutants.

Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, defies the notion the Trump presidency would be the end of all efforts to reduce CO2 emissions. LA is part of the C40 network of cities that act on climate change.

Hiroji Onishi, Toyota’s chief executive officer for the China region, is happy that starting next year, buyers of the Levin and Corolla hybrids in the cities of Tianjin or Guangzhou will be allowed to enter the license plate lottery normally reserved for PHEVs.
