USA: Nissan announces new Leaf Plus price

Nissan has announced pricing for their 62 kWh Leaf Plus in the States, where it will be available from retailers this month. Starting price is $36,550. The Leaf SV Plus will cost $38,510, while the most expensive version, the Leaf SL Plus, costs $42,550.

Europe: 3000 orders for 62 kWh Nissan Leaf

Nissan has already taken more than 3,000 advance orders for the Leaf with 62 kWh battery in Europe. This means that the majority of the 5,000 units allocated for Europe have been reserved in only a month.

Nissan Leaf with 62 kWh battery now up for order

Nissan presented the Leaf with a larger battery at the CES 2019 as expected. Officially called Nissan Leaf 3.ZERO e+, the electric car features the long awaited 60+ kWh battery and can now be ordered from €46,500. Deliveries in Europe will start in summer 2019 yet in limited numbers.

UK watchdog bans Nissan Leaf advert

UK advertising watchdog ASA has censored Nissan over misleading claims. Nissan had said the Leaf could largely be charged within an hour but ASA found the claims not “substantiated” enough despite Nissan’s clarification in fine print.

The city car fleet of the Canadian city Montreal will be joined by 100 Nissan Leaf of the most recent generation in the coming weeks. The city currently maintains 129 fully electric vehicles in its fleet, among which are 107 first-generation Nissan Leaf.

Fukuoka police to patrol in 22 new Nissan Leafs

The police in the Japanese city of Fukuoka has received 22 new Nissan Leaf vehicles and converted them to patrol vehicles. They will not be used to chase down criminals, however, but will be used for “support tasks”.
