Nissan UK launches subscriptions for (H)EVs

Nissan has introduced a new subscription service for three electrified models, starting from £645 per month in the UK. Subscriptions range from three months to two years, and drivers may switch between the Nissan Leaf, Ariya or Qashqai during the contract period.

Moreover, Nissan Subscription covers the cost of the vehicle during the contract period, insurance for up to five drivers, road tax, servicing, and roadside assistance. All that is left is for drivers to fuel and recharge the vehicle, which Nissan calls a “hassle-free approach” somewhat rightly.

The online subscription includes a refundable deposit equivalent to one month’s payment and home delivery.

Andrew Humberstone, managing director at Nissan GB, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, stating that it will attract a “new generation of motorists” who seek a digital purchase experience and the option to switch cars based on their needs without the administrative hassles of car ownership.

Nissan Subscription includes three electrified vehicles. Customers can choose from the fully electric Leaf 39kWh Tekna or Nissan Ariya 87kWh Evolve and the hybrid Qashqai e-Power N-Connecta. The latter has the lowest monthly rate of £645 (around €750); the Leaf EV starts from £659 (around €767), and the latest Ariya electric crossover costs £995 (around €1,159) a month. This is for the 24-month contract; opting for three months will result in a fee of £1,189 for the Ariya, for example, as flexibility is more costly. Nissan offers options of three, six, 12 and 24 months online.

The prices already incorporate 800 miles of usage per month, although mileage allowances can be customised, informs Nissan. Staying with the example of the Nissan Ariya, opting for 2,000 miles inclusive will cost an additional £229,99 per month.

To sign up for the service, customers need to create a profile, provide a scan of their driving license, select their desired car, arrange payment, and confirm a delivery date. The entire process is conducted in partnership with Bipi Mobility UK Limited.
