Tesla planning to manufacture chargers in China

Tesla appears to be planning a production facility for chargers near its car factory in Shanghai. Over in Europe, the prices for the Model S and Model X have been increased, while in the USA the Model X and some Model Y will have to go to the workshop for a recall.

Tesla’s fifty-two new service centres in 2021

Tesla is apparently planning a significant expansion of its service capacities. Information leaked to a US publication shows Elon Musk’s management team has announced to employees that it plans to open at least one service centre per week in 2021.

Tesla starts exporting Chinese Model 3 units

Tesla has now apparently started to export Model 3 produced in China to Europe – a first order from France already contains the reference ‘Model 3 – China’. In addition, not only the Model 3 is to receive additional range, but also the Model S and Model X.

Tesla Model S Plaid release by late 2021

Tesla presented the series version of the Model S with plaid drive at the company’s eagerly-awaited Battery Day. The sedan with three electric motors revealed some impressive performance data. Although the model can be pre-ordered from now on, it will still take some time until deliveries start.

Tesla batteries under evaluation

The US NHTSA has launched a probe over a potential design flaw in older Model S battery packs that could prove dangerous. Reportedly, parts in the cooling mechanism in 2012 to 2016 Tesla Model S units could render the battery pack useless or even cause fires.

Tesla production & delivery report Q2/2020

Tesla delivered a total of 90,650 vehicles in the second quarter of 2020, 2,250 more than in the first quarter of the year. From April to June a total of 82,272 Tesla vehicles were produced, which significantly fewer than in the 1st quarter due to Corona restrictions.

The 100 kWh Model 3: rumours and a denial

Rumour has it that Tesla is planning a 100-kWh version for Model 3, but Elon Musk has denied that Tesla is developing such a Model3. In addition, the range for the Model S with a large battery will indeed increase, but only in North America for the time being.

Tesla reduces prices across the board

Tesla has just lowered the prices of its models, in some cases considerably, depending on country and model range. All Tesla models are affected by the price cuts with the exception of the new Model Y. In the USA, the Model 3 will also be around 2,000 dollars cheaper.

Tesla delivered 112,000 electric cars in the 4th quarter of 2019, of which 92,550 were Model 3 and 19,450 were Model S and Model X. The Californians have thus reached the targeted 100,000 deliveries for the first time, and production has now also reached six figures.
