Two journalists from the British magazine What Car? say they set a new (unofficial) world record by driving a Porsche Taycan through 14 European countries within 24 hours. When the pair started out, Google Maps calculated that they could drive through 13 countries in 19 hours and 30 minutes.

A couple from Kent said it took more than nine hours to drive 130 miles home from Bournemouth as they struggled to find a working charger. Most were either broken, occupied or too slow to provide a meaningful charge on the powerful EV.

Just in time for the IAA, Porsche plans to start production of the first Taycan customer vehicles on September 9. Porsche now also confirms that it has increased its stake in Rimac Automobili from ten to 15.5 per cent.
