BMW sends the Mini Cooper to the Nürburgring
BMW is sending their classic Mini to the race track, which may raise some eyebrows, but the German company has a rather unique record in mind: Instead of lap records, this race is an efficiency test: thanks to two-stage recuperation, the electric Mini can circle the Nordschleife without the need for a brake pedal.
Now it remains to be seen how the record on the 20.8 km track plays out – if the driver manages the whole thing without touching the brake pedal, this may turn a new leaf in the race for efficiency.
