Tim-Cook“We’re focusing on autonomous systems- It’s a core technology that we view as very important.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook states the firm’s car plans finally. Apple will focus on technology first rather than building its own vehicles. Project Titan remains on the table but untouched although Cook described electric driving as a “marvellous experience.”

Ron-Baron“I think it is going to be about $500 to $600 next year, and I think it is going to be $1,000 in 2020.”

Is it wishful thinking or prescience that Billionaire investor Ron Baron exhibits here one wonders. Probably a bit of both given that he has invested in Tesla himself.

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn on the new e-Power drive, which the Note model uses in Japan. He also referred to the European market but gave no timeline for a possible introduction.

Trevor-Milton“We believe our lithium battery packs, which should be available next year, are more energy dense and weigh less than any vehicle production pack in the world.”

Says Trevor Milton, CEO of Nikola Motor, who also believes his firm could fit a 125 kWh battery in a Tesla Model S, or help the BMW i3 to a range of over 400 miles.

Ron-Baron“I think in this investment from here in the next 15 years, we can make 30 to 50 times our money.”

Billionaire buy-and-hold investor Ron Baron firmly believes in his Tesla investment and expects the share price to rise and rise and rise.

Vidar-Helgesen“There is an agreement on a target of zero new fossil-fuel cars sold as from 2025. No outright ban, but strong actions required.”

Norway’s Minister of Climate and Environment Vidar Helgesen took to Twitter to clarify that the country would not ban ICEs entirely by 2025 as we reported yesterday but confirmed that the end of fossil fuelled transport is coming close up north.

Tesla’s UK and Ireland director Georg Ell compares the EV to a computer and says that Tesla is in fact a technology company that builds electric cars.

Ron-Baron“We believe that BMW will likely phase out internal combustion engines over the next 10 years.”

Ron Baron, CEO of Baron Capital, says that two of the company’s analysts, who visited BMW in Germany, were told that the Bavarian carmaker believes that a “revolution in the drive train is underway.”
