Sono Motors developing V2X wall box in design survey
Sono Motors says it is working on a bidirectional AC wall box and is currently running a survey for customers to vote for their favourite design. The German company expects the home charger launch to coincide with Sono Motors’ Sion solar car coming to market in 2023.

Zap-Map users rank UK charging networks in survey
The British mapping service Zap-Map has asked more than 1,500 users, which charge points they like best. The company’s annual electric vehicle charging network satisfaction rankings included 16 providers in 2020.

British teens want electric cars.
More than 80 percent of teenagers in Britain believe that their first car will actually be electric, data gathered by the Ultra Low Campaign suggests. Also, 90 percent of those 14 to 17 year olds feel that motorists should be driving zero-emissions cars, regardless of their age. We agree!

BMW eDrive technology, EV buyer survey.
Video tip: BMW USA promotes the technology transfer from the plug-in hybrid i8 to the X5 eDrive as the “Ultimate Driving Machine.” Well, we would like to remark that one is a light-weight sports car designed as sort of an Über-Hybrid, while the other remains an SUV. Points for trying though.

Reading tip: Market researcher Morpace inquired what drove plug-in buyers to go electric. Interestingly, 39 percent would not have made the move without government incentives. Only 52% of respondents were satisfied with the dealer’s knowledge but 77% did most of their research at home.

Read & watch: In China, the first hydrogen-powered tram has been presented by Sifang, a subsidiary of China South Rail Corporation. Built in Qingdao, the fuel cell tram can go for 100 km at a top speed of 70 kph. A steam engine of a new kind.
