VDL Bus & Coach has received the first order from Sweden for the new generation of its Citea electric bus. Public transport operator Nobina has ordered four new generation VDL Citea LE-122s with 490 kWh batteries. They are scheduled to enter service in the Swedish municipality of Ale in the summer of 2023.

Arriva is expanding the zero-emission bus fleet in the Netherlands with new vehicles from VDL Bus & Coach. The Deutsche Bahn subsidiary has ordered 64 electric buses to enter service in the company’s North Brabant East concession.

In Italy, the public transport operator TPER (Emilia-Romagna Passenger Transport) has ordered seven Citea SLF-120 Electric buses from VDL Bus & Coach. These are to be deployed in the city of Bologna in 2022. Both parties also want to explore extending the order to up to 20 electric city buses.

The Finnish bus company Pohjolan Liikenne has ordered 25 electric buses from VDL Bus & Coach. The LE-122 e-buses of the new Citea generation will be put into operation in 2023.
