High capacity anode: Researchers from Ningbo University in China have used hydroxylamine hydrochloride (H3NOHCl) as anode material for Li-ion batteries for the first time. Their findings show an initial charge capacity that is much higher than that of commercial graphite.

Skinny Segway: InMotion has introduced its electric stand-up unicycle at German IFA tradeshow. The so-called S1 features a telescopic steering rod, is self-balancing and comes with front and tail lights as well as a touch display to control the Segway-like vehicle.
