Exactly 5,818 battery-electric vehicles were sold in the U.S. in October. That is a 52.4 percent increase compared to same month last year. The number of plug-in hybrids (3,735) sold dropped 41.3 percent, while hybrid sales (30,892) shed 8 percent.
