Winterkorn resigns: Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn resigned, saying he would he would “accept responsibility” for the “irregularities that have been found in diesel engines.” He and the supervisory board insist that he had no knowledge of manipulated emission values. Porsche CEO Matthias Müller and Herbert Diess are being discussed as successors.

Delivery trike: Govecs and Danish utility Trefor jointly developed the TRIPL. The electric trike can carry up to 200 kg or 750 l, as the transport module can be adapted. Movement for air quality: Formula E and former team boss Lord Paul Drayson are promoting the CleanSpace movement. It lets people join an app that monitors air pollution levels and also registers miles cleanly travelled, i.e. walked or cycled.,

Tesla update: The Californians have released the software update v7.0 to selected Model S drivers. The upgrade enables them to loosen their grip on the steering wheel at least a little, as the update includes the ‘Autosteer’ as well as ‘Autopark’ function.

E-Mobility division: German supplier ZF is considering to establish a fifth division solely dedicated to electric mobility in Schweinfurt. However, no decision has been made yet. (in German)

Leaked: The 2016 Subaru XV, called Subaru Crosstrek in the U.S., received a little makeover, as pictures in a Japanese brochure reveal. The hybrid version remains a little more costly than the conventional car.
