Berlin buzzes with electric scooters of a new kind as Emmy (formerly eMio) adds the eSchwalbe by Govecs. 450 units of the legendary GDR two-wheeler will join the fleet for all to share from the end of July, thus increasing Emmy’s pack to a 1,000 electric scooters in the German capital. There, the rental scooter market has become tough for the eMio pioneers since Bosch’s Coup. The latter already operates a 1,000 strong fleet in Berlin and had recently expanded to Paris.

Accelerating EV sharing: A smartphone is all you need to rent an electric car from Car2Go in Stuttgart, Amsterdam and Madrid. All three cities are EV only for Daimler’s car sharing service and clients can now search, reserve and rent the 1,400 cars via app. The phone doubles as key as well and Daimler hopes the process to be much faster than before.

Fee for PEVs: West Virginia got a new law that charges electric and hybrid vehicles 200 and 100 dollars respectively per year. The registration fee is part of a road funding bill to go into effect on July, 1.
