UK government supports EV battery development centre

The British government contributes 80m pounds to establish a National Battery Manufacturing Development Facility. The project’s funding is part of the country’s 246m pounds Faraday Challenge.

The Warwick Manufacturing Group, Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Coventry City Council team up to found the new facility that shall provide an ideal framework for researchers and OEMs to develop new battery tech on cell level as well as on modular level. The centre is going to be installed in Coventry, close to the headquarters of several big car makers.
