UQM Technologies establishes Sino-American alliance

The U.S. specialist for electric drivetrains targets the commercial vehicle market in China and thus teams up with the China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (CNHTC) and the latter’s subsidiary Sinotruk Global Village Investment Limited based in Hong Kong.

Their upcoming joint venture will be situated in Qingdao and is going to be called Sinotruk Qingdao Zhongqi New Energy Automobile. Apart of the production of electric drives for commercial vehicles in China, the partners also intend to sell E-axles on the global market. Production is scheduled for 2019 with an initial output of 50,000 systems annually.
