U.S. charging net operator ChargePoint offers two new service solutions: the so-called Driver Experience Network and the Operator Network. Both services shall facilitate managing charging networks.

The Driver Experience Network shall enable OEMs, mobility service providers, service station operators and others to integrate charging functionality into their mobile apps and in-vehicle infotainment systems. “Thus, companies (…) can equip drivers and other users with key charging tools and information that has historically only been accessible at ChargePoint.com or through the ChargePoint mobile app”, the manufacturer states. Moreover, the Operator Network provides unparalleled operations management tools, integration options and energy management to owners of charging stations. According to ChargePoint, this system is already successfully used by thousands of customers. New is that the Operator Network is now offered separately.

ChargePoint operates more than 44,000 public and semi-public charging spots and says that it has more than 7,000 customer, among them businesses, cities, agencies and service providers.

Last summer, ChargePoint announced plans to expand also further into Europe. The American infrastructure provider counts Daimler, BMW, and Siemens among its investors (we reported) but would not say how much they are actually involved.
