BMW confirms that its EV concept BMW i Vision Dynamics – first unveiled at the IAA 2017 – will go serial. The model will be produced in Munich under the name BMW i4. However, a time schedule has not yet been released.
Yet the German Handelsblatt cites insiders stating that production could kick-off no later than 2020 or 2021.
The concept first shown in 2017 in Frankfurt is said to accelerate within four seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and to reach a top speed of 200 kph.
The range shall be up to 600 km. However, in an earlier video interview, BMW chief developer Klaus Fröhlich indicated already that serial production will not commence before 2021 because battery technology will not last for 600 km sooner. More details are not yet available.
