BMW to launch i7 with rear-wheel drive in July
According to the German carmaker, the new BMW i7 eDrive50 offers a maximum output of 335 kW and comes with a range of 575 to 611 kilometres in WLTP. In the USA, both i7 and i4 customers also have the option of a boosted variant with longer ranges.

New BMW iX1 and base i4 variant to release in November
BMW has announced a series of market launches with electric and plug-in hybrid drives. The main focus is on the completely new X1 series, which for the first time is also available in a purely battery-electric version. BMW has started testing a 4-e-motor AWD system

BMW issues recall for the iX and i4 in the USA
BMW has issued a recall for a small number of its iX and i4 EVs in the US due to a possible fire hazard. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 56 iX and 27 i4 were “manufactured with a high-voltage battery that may not have been produced to specifications by the supplier”.

BMW doubles EV sales globally in first half of 2022
The BMW Group sold a total of 75,891 fully electric vehicles of the BMW and Mini brands worldwide in the first half of 2022. This means that the Group more than doubled BEV sales compared to the same period last year (+110.3 per cent).

BMW is bringing the i4 to China

BMW i4 recall in the EU
Just a few months after BMW started delivering the i4, there is already a recall. An entry in the EU Commission’s Safety Gate shows that BMW i4 vehicles produced between 15 September and 30 November 2021 may not have any battery crash pads fitted.
