Lincolnshire based Rolec EV, a manufacturer of charging points, is aiming to increase production capacity by over 200 percent. They announced the opening of a new factory complex in order to do so and also the creation of a further 50 full-time jobs.

The new factory will complement Rolec’s existing Head Office and sales facilities in Boston, which already employs over 100 people.

Kieron Alsop, Managing Director of Rolec, commented: “We are delighted to be in a position to further expand our operations with the introduction of a purpose designed factory complex dedicated to the manufacture of EV charging points.”

Rolec makes products for the caravan, marina and outdoor industries at their main site. However, the new factory in particular will focus on smart charging solutions, including new DC rapid and ultrafast products, as well as the street lamp solution for electric vehicles. Rolec EV introduced a smart technology platform that integrates real-time charge point data such as availability, costs and power consumption already in 2017 reportedly. Back then this step effectively merged all their charging solutions into an all-in-one package.
