The US manufacturer Atlis Motor Vehicles has presented its all-electric pickup truck announced a few months ago, bearing the name Atlis XT and has a range of up to 800 kilometres. As far as series production is concerned, the financing has not yet been secured.
As announced, the E-Pickup will be available in three battery versions for 300, 400 and 500 miles (around 480, 640 and 800 km). However, these values refer to unloaded copies of the battery electric vehicles. In addition to the range, the Atlis XT wants to make a score with a high towing capacity of up to 35,000 lbs (almost 16 tons) and a payload of up to 5,000 lbs (almost 2.3 tons). Compared to the R1T electric pickup recently introduced by Rivian, the Atlis XT will be longer and have a loading area of up to 2.4 metres. There will also be several variants of the pickup with shorter loading areas, off-road features or double rear wheels.
Atlis Motor Vehicles is mounting an electric motor on each wheel their pickup truck. That enables the BEV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds when unloaded and in less than 18 seconds when fully loaded with a trailer. The top speed was specified by the manufacturer as 120 mph (a good 190 km/h). The luxuriously designed interior has room for six people. In addition, Atlis attaches great importance to autonomous driving components. According to the company, the battery pack is designed in such a way that charging with the company’s own charger only takes around 15 minutes, although of course it can also be charged on devices from other manufacturers.
The manufacturer hopes to bring the XT onto the market in 2020. However, according to “Inside EVs” the financing is not yet fully secured. As far as the price is concerned, it is now said that the decision is not ready to be made yet, although in September there was still talk of the planned construction of a small series with base price of 45,000 dollars.
