The UK prices are now out for the Mercedes-Benz PHEV diesel-electric GLE with a notable electric range for plug-ins, as well as for the updated petrol-electric GLC.

GLC 300 e 4MATIC AMG Line starts from £49,687 and prices start from £61,360 OTR for GLE 350 de AMG Line. The two new models are now up for sale and according to Mercedes, will be deliverable in summer of this year.

The GLC 300 e  comes in two body styles with both SUV and Coupé style bodies. The PHEV comes with a 2-litre petrol engine and a 13.5 kWh battery which gives an electric range of 29 miles (almost 47 km). The battery is accompanied by a 7.4 kW onboard charger making it possible to charge the VLC 300 3 in under two hours with a 7.4, kW wallbox.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV lineup has grown with the GLE 350 de PHEV. Prices start at £61,360 for the AMG Line equipment line, whereby the AMG Line Premium starts at £64,860, and the AMG Line Premium plus at £68,360.

The GLE 350 e has a 31.2 kWh battery with an NEDC-estimated range of 66 miles (106 km). This is the largest battery size that Mercedes has used in a PHEV yet, which is what allows the plug-in hybrid a considerably larger all-electric range.

In the all-electric mode, the SUV has a top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h). The 7.4 kW onboard charger is standard, allowing the battery to charge from 10-100 per cent in just over 3 hours. Since the GLW 350 de is capable of both AC and DC charging, with a maximum DC charge rate of 60 kW the semi-electric SUV can be recharged in around half an hour.
