The electric moped sharing company Revel suspended service in New York City on Tuesday “until further notice” following a second death on its electric vehicles in 11 days.

“We’re reviewing and strengthening our rider accountability and safety measures and communicating with city officials, and we look forward to serving you again in the near future.” Revel tweeted. What these new safety measures will look like remains to be seen.

Some cities, such as Paris, ensured that electric scooters would be used less recklessly by limiting speeds in certain areas, as well as limiting parking areas to keep pedestrian areas free. Driver experience is also an issue as the scooters are incredibly easy to access.
