Nissan and Allied Irish Banks (AIB) have launched a 0% finance on the Nissan Leaf in Ireland. The ‘Power of Zero’ initiative offers consumers the opportunity to buy a Nissan LEAF with 0% finance as well as being given one year’s free servicing.

Nissan estimates the new offer includes savings over €13,000 in finance and running costs and 11 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over five years when buying the company’s long-running electric car.

Overall, the partners say they are supporting the Irish government’s Climate Action Plan by presenting motorists with an all-encompassing offer that they claim is the first of its kind in Ireland.

The Nissan Leaf is the best-selling electric vehicle in the country, accounting for nearly 5,406 of the 11,684 EVs on the country’s roads, the company tells the press.

The Japanese firm is building the Leaf in neighbouring Britain at its facility in Sunderland, one of the last remaining open plants for Nissan in Europe. According to the recent restructuring plans, alliance partner Renault is to take the lead on the continent.
