Chinese regulators call in Tesla over consumer rights
Chinese government officials have met Tesla representatives over customer complaints about battery fires, unexpected acceleration and failures in OTA software updates. They have urged Tesla to comply with the law and stay consistent while the company promised they would thoroughly look into the issues.
In response, Tesla said it would thoroughly investigate the problems reported by consumers and step up inspections.
“We will strictly abide by Chinese laws and regulations and always respect consumer rights,” a company spokesperson said, adding that Tesla accepted the guidance of the Chinese government departments
