Lucid Motors appoints ex-Waymo’s Sherry House as CFO

EV startup Lucid Motors has made Sherry House the new Chief Financial Officer. She comes from Google’s autonomous driving company Waymo. Lucid also appointed new specialists in software and information technology as well as marketing.

Namely, the appointments include Margaret Burgraff as VP of Software Validation; Sanjay Chandra as VP of Information Technology; and Jeff Curry, VP of Marketing and Communications.

For Sherry House, Lucid emphasises her ten-year+ experience with automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier and mobility companies, and several years in the capital markets industry as a technology investor, investment banker and financial operating executive. At Waymo, she was responsible for global corporate development, investments, acquisitions and external fundraising. Sherry House will be one of the still few female executives in the automotive and mobility industry.

“We are delighted to have Sherry join us. Her rare combination of financial and technical experience bolsters our core leadership team in a pivotal year for Lucid as we prepare to transition to a publicly-traded company and launch the Lucid Air,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO, Lucid Motors.

Lucid had announced said merger in February and intends to complete the SPAC deal and listing as CCIV in the second half of the year.

For the Lucid Air, the company’s first electric car, we still expect a launch. Earlier communications spoke of early 2021, but recent statements say customer deliveries of the Lucid Air are planned to begin in the second half of 2021. The company will make the EV in Arizona.

Lucid Motors has received approval from the Casa Grande City Council to start expanding its electric car plant there. The expansion is to create the capacity for the announced second series, an electric SUV. When completed, the factory’s production capacity should be up to 400,000 electric cars per year.

Why do you need "female" in the title? She clearly is one and I do not think that is why they hired her.
