E-scooters switched off at certain times and places in Germany

In Germany, Cologne’s Lord Mayor Henriette Reker is proposing that electric kick-scooters can no longer be used in certain areas of the city at night between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Rental companies are also to switch off the scooters wherever there have recently been serious accidents and complaints about reckless driving behaviour. Meanwhile, the planned recovery of around 500 scooters from the Rhine is stalling because the operators failed to present a coherent concept and in Berlin, too, e-bikes and e-scooters are being recovered from waterways.
