Revel launches scooter fleet in Austin

The New York startup Revel has launched in the Texan capital with a fleet of 1,000 electric scooters (as in mopeds, not kick scooters) in a vehicle-sharing scheme. Revel already has 1,000 electric scooters on New York’s streets and 400 more in Washington DC.

VOI Technology is apparently operating its electric kick scooter rental service completely emission-free in a trial city through the use of electric transporters and cargo pedelecs. Tier Mobility and Circ are also using new electric kick scooters with replaceable batteries.

The ride-share company Uber has joined forces with the e-scooter rental company Cityscoot in Paris. All of the more than 4,000 electric scooters offered by Cityscoot in the French capital can now be found and booked via the Uber app.

Uber & Lime expand cooperation in Europe

Uber clients in Europe may now book Lime e-bikes straight through the Uber app. The cooperation started in the US and is currently being rolled out across the continent. Prague, Warsaw and Stockholm are among the first wave of European markets with other capitals to follow suit.

USA: Revel completes scooter sharing tests in NY

The New York City-based startup Revel Transit has completed a nine-month pilot project on electric scooter sharing, in which 68 mopeds were used. Now 1,000 of their shared electric scooters were released onto the streets of Brooklyn and Queens.

France to ban electric scooters from sidewalks

France’s Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne has announced that she will ban electric scooters from sidewalks starting this September. In future, the vehicles will only be on the road or on cycle paths. Infringements could result in a fine of 135 euros.

Coup boosts big city fleets by 500 electric scooters each
