Too many scooters on Swedish streets

Stockholm wants to almost halve the number of electric kick scooters in circulation around the Swedish capital. The city council voted to limit the number of registered electric scooters from the current 23,000 to 12,000 and to reduce the number of registered rental companies from the current eight to three.

The new scooter restrictions are to enter into force on January 1st and city authorities will announce the companies that will be allowed to retain their rental licences within the upcoming weeks.
