Allego is building HPC chargers in Scandinavia

Allego is expanding into Scandinavia, where the company focuses on the installation of high-power charging stations with up to 350 kW charging capacity. Allego’s headquarters in Scandinavia will be in Stockholm. A total of 55 locations are to be set up in Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Byton starts pre-production of the M-Byte EV

The Chinese electric car brand Byton has now started production of the pre-production series of its first M-Byte model at its Nanjing plant. The manufacturer says it already has 50,000 reservations for the EV worldwide.

The Swedish electric car startup Uniti has published the price and specifications for its Uniti One compact electric car, which can now be configured and is to be delivered first in Sweden and the UK from mid-2020. The UK base price is 17,760 euros including the plug-in grant.

Danfoss drive used in Sweden’s biggest hybrid ferry

Danfoss Editron supplied the electric drive system for Sweden’s largest hybrid car ferry to date. The ferry is now about to go into operation. The 100-metre Tellus ferry can carry 80 cars and 297 passengers per tour and will operate with a battery capacity of 949 kWh mainly in fully electric mode.

Hydrofoiling: This electric speed boat got wings (video)

The Swedish firm Candela has developed an electric speed boat that is hydrofoiling, so it is sort of flying. Top speed is 30 knots (55 kph) and the 40 kWh battery enables a range of more than 50 nautical miles (93 km) – and, they’ve taken it to series production.
