Norway subjects micromobility to traffic rules: Norway’s government is tightening the rules for the use of electric kick scooters and other electric micromobility vehicles.

In future, they will be classified as motor vehicles and a blood alcohol limit (0.02 BAC), an age limit (from 12 years) and compulsory helmets for people under 15 years will be introduced. The new regulations are to apply from spring 2022. Previously, the Norwegian capital Oslo had reduced the number of electric kick scooters from almost 25,000 to 8,000.
