Giga Berlin still has no functioning fire alarm system

The Tesla car factory in Grünheide still does not have a functioning fire alarm system. The facility has neither fire alarms nor sprinkler systems that are currently operational, which are temporarily replaced by eight employees on duty around the clock as fire guards patrolling around the factory.

This has now been confirmed to RBB by Sascha Gehm, the head of the building and environmental department of the Oder-Spree district responsible. He said that the authorities were aware that the fire alarm system and sprinklers had not been operating since the start of production. Tesla was working on the basis of a preliminary fire protection concept that had been approved by the authorities. Piquant: A few days ago, there had been a fire on the Tesla premises in which paper and wood waste had caught fire.
