Fabrice Cambolive to take over as CEO at Renault

On 1 February 2023, Fabrice Cambolive will assume responsibility as CEO of the Renault brand. Until now, Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo has also headed the brand. Cambolive’s main task will be to organise the upcoming EV offensive.

The 54-year-old Cambolive has been with the Renault Group since 1992 and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the Renault brand since May 2022. He already reported to Luca de Meo in this role.

Even though Cambolive will no longer be the brand COO in future, he will logically continue to work closely with de Meo in his new position and report to him but with further powers as brand CEO. As Renault writes in the announcement, Cambolive will be responsible for the transformation of the brand with the introduction of 14 new models by 2025, as well as expansion in Europe and internationally.

Cambolive has held various international sales and marketing positions in Spain, Switzerland, France, Germany and Romania during his more than 30 years with Renault. In 2011, he was appointed Vice President, Sales & Marketing for the Russia and Eurasia region before being appointed CEO of Renault do Brasil in 2015. In 2017, he assumed responsibility as Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Africa, Middle East, India and Pacific region. In 2021, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Sales & Operations for the Renault brand. In this capacity, he was responsible for the implementation of the ‘Renaulution’ strategy at a global level and the transformation of the brand’s business model.

“I am proud that Fabrice Cambolive, thanks to the strength of his 30-year experience within the group, is taking over the leadership of the Renault brand,” says Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group. “His commitment, his international experience and his in-depth knowledge of the group will enable him to continue to ensure the brand’s progress in high-value segments. I am counting on him to guide the teams throughout the deep transformation the Renault brand will undergo in the coming years.”

Mobilize will also get a new boss on 1 February 2023. The new CEO of Renault’s mobility brand will be Gianluca De Ficchy. As such, he will be responsible for the Mobilize Financial Services and Mobilize Beyond Automotive brands. In this position, De Ficchy will be the supervisor of Fedra Ribeiro, who was appointed CEO of Mobilize Beyond Automotive at the end of 2022. The founding head of Renault’s Mobilize division, Clotilde Delbos, had left the Renault Group at the end of the year.
