Endera becomes a shuttle of choice among CALACT members

The US manufacturer Endera will deliver up to 1,000 electric shuttles to over 300 fleet operators in California thanks to a state-wide purchasing contract. It includes options for even more shuttles over the five-year contract period.

The customer is the California Association for Coordinated Transportation (CALACT) – the largest state transport association in the USA. CALACT helps fleet operators avoid lengthy and expensive individual procurements similar to a buyers pool. Endera was awarded the contract for up to 1,000 electric shuttles through its distribution partner, Coachwest Luxury & Performance Motorcars (Coachwest), that is listed with CALACT.

Endera shall deliver the first B-Series mini buses already firmly on order by 2025.

CALACT association’s membership of transit agencies and city and county governments can now purchase Endera’s B-Series all-electric shuttles through a streamlined process that complies with federal and state purchasing regulations.

“We are honoured to be among the select few to successfully pass the rigorous CALACT testing process, which allows us to offer our best-in-class electric buses to transit fleet operators across the state,” said Don White, Endera’s director of sales.

All Endera E-Shuttles are available as 12- or 16-seaters, each with space for up to two wheelchairs. In addition, the buses can be charged quickly with a maximum charging time of 45 minutes and, according to Endera, are the fastest-charging electric buses in their class on the US market. The buses are also equipped with several technical features, such as proprietary dispatching software that keeps track of vehicles and routes and enables automated energy management.

By its own account, Endera is the only mid-sized vertically integrated electric bus manufacturer in the US. All electric powertrains and bodies are manufactured at the company’s 250,000-square-foot facility in Ottawa, Ohio. Proprietary electric powertrains are developed in the company’s research and development (R&D) department based in Los Angeles, California. Moreover, Endera also offers charging equipment alongside the e-buses and reportedly utilises the managing platform from The Mobility House.
