Van Hool to deliver 6 electric trolleybuses to Italy

Belgian bus manufacturer Van Hool will deliver six 18-metre electric buses to the transport authority of the Italian city of Pescara from mid-2022, while three more could follow. The buses also feature technology from a German supplier.

Moscow to electrify entire bus fleet by 2030

Moscow’s bus fleet is to be completely converted to purely electric buses by 2030. Mosgortrans, the operator of the bus and tram network in the Russian capital, says that the fleet is to be expanded to more than 2,000 electric buses.

Yutong delivers 55 e-buses to Denmark

The public transport operator Keolis has received 55 e-buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong. The vehicles will be used for two projects in Denmark. Keolis has also secured an order from France.

Turkish manufacturer Karsan has delivered a further ten electric minibuses to the Romanian city of Suceava, which now has 15 Jest Electric buses from Karsan in operation. Karsan had won a tender by the city for the new electric minibuses last year with an open option.

Hamburg orders electric buses from Irizar, MAN & Volvo

Hamburg public transport operator Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein (VHH) has completed the tender for a further 32 electric buses. The contracts were awarded to Irizar, MAN and Volvo. Delivery of the new vehicles is scheduled to begin at the end of 2021.

Ekoenergetyka installs depot chargers in Aachen

The Polish charging infrastructure provider Ekoenergetyka has installed 17 depot charging stations for electric buses in the German town of Aachen. Each has a capacity of 75 kW, and another ten of these charging stations are to follow in mid-2021.

Washington orders 20 more New Flyer buses

Washington’s King County Metro is acquiring 20 additional New Flyer electric buses. This follows the completion of an 18-moth test for two of the particular e-bus models launched in 2018. They also hold an option to purchase up to 63 additional zero-emission buses.

BYD receives first order from Romania

BYD books its first electric bus order from Romania. The city of Buzău orders nine 12-metre electric buses, which will be operated by Transbus Buzău. The majority of the vehicles will be manufactured at BYD’s production facility in Komárom in neighbouring Hungary.

39 electric MAN buses for Nuremberg

Public transport operator VAG Nürnberg has ordered 39 e-buses from Germany’s MAN Truck & Bus, including 28 Lion’s City 18 E and eleven Lion’s City 12 E. For MAN, this is the largest electric bus order to date and the company’s first order ever to include articulated e-buses.

Munich city orders PSI depot management system

In Germany, Stadtwerke München (SWM) has commissioned PSI Transcom to supply the PSIebus depot management system for electric buses. The software will be used to manage and control the electric bus dispatching in the ‘Moosach’ and ‘Ost’ bus depots.
