Alauda presents crewed electric aerial racer
The Australian company Alauda Aeronautics has presented the latest development stage of its electric flying car for the EXA racing series. The Airspeeder Mk4 is the version that will compete in crewed races for the first time in 2024.
The electric flying car series completed its first race in South Australia in October, albeit still remote-controlled, with the model called Mk3. The hydrogen-electric-powered vertical take-off Airspeeder Mk4 is supposed to produce 1,000 kW, reach up to 360 km/h and a range of 300 kilometres.
Initially, the first races with remote control were to start as early as 2021, and the first crewed races with pilots on board were announced for 2022.
