VinFast to deliver its EVs in the US in March

The Vietnamese electric carmaker VinFast will begin deliveries of its limited edition VF 8 City Edition in the US on 1 March. Initially, the EVs were to be delivered in February. But VinFast first wanted to complete updating the vehicles with the latest software. The 999 electric cars arrived in the US from Vietnam in December. It is a limited edition sold exclusively in the US. In their home market, Vietnam, the first SUV deliveries took place in September.

Moreover, Reuters reports that after deliveries were delayed, the Vietnamese startup cut lease prices by more than 50 per cent for its first customers in California, US. Initially, the VF 8 was available for a monthly payment of 599 dollars for 24 months. It now only costs 399 dollars for the same lease time.

On top of that, California customers who already paid a refundable deposit would only be charged 274 dollars a month.

The VF 8 is a crossover SUV and is 4.75 metres long. The battery has a usable energy content of 82 kWh („battery version 1“) or 87.8 kWh („battery version 2“). The different versions of the VF 8 can go between 400 and 420 kilometres or 447 and 471 kilometres on a single charge, respectably.
