Skoda releases new mapping app for charge points

Skoda has lauched a new app for its infotainment system. Powerpass Map shows public charge points directly on the central display, and there is a new rating function.

The Powerpass Map is available to drivers of the Skoda Enyaq iV or Enyaq Coupé iV. The information listed by Skoda includes the operating hours, the number of charge points available, maximum charging power and prices.

The Czech Volkswagen subsidiary says the map displays available charging points “within and outside the Powerpass network,” which includes over 500,000 charging points across Europe. Those stations already in the Powerpass will be marked with a symbol on the map. The driver may also filter searches with individual requirements.

As for the new user-generated ratings, Skoda does not say whether they moderate these comments, so that these ratings may be taken with a grain of salt. Still, the app allows users to rate and comment on the charging stations directly in the app, and others can view this feedback.

Powerpass Map is free and can be downloaded directly from the infotainment system of an Enyaq iV and Enyaq Coupé iV, provided at least ME3.0 vehicle software is installed. Additionally, users can search for and display charging points in the MyŠkoda or Powerpass mobile apps.
