Human Horizons introduces third EV for European markets

The Chinese carmaker Human Horizons has presented the third model of its electric car brand HiPhi at Auto Shanghai. The company also revealed more details about its launch in Europe, which it had announced at the beginning of the week.

The third model is called HiPhi Y is an electric SUV. The registration application in China, which was made public in February, shows that the new electric SUV will be priced between ¥400,000 and ¥500,000 (around €53,000 to €66,000), making it more affordable than the two previous flagship electric cars HiPhi X and HiPhi Z.

The HiPhi Y will be available in three variants: two with a single-engine with 247 kW power, and with an all-wheel-drive version with an additional 124 kW front engine. CATL and FinDreams, BYD’s battery division, will supply the batteries – CATL for one single-motor and the dual-motor variants and FinDreams for the other single-motor version. According to CLTC standards, the EV has a range of more than 600 kilometres.

The five-seater is 4,938 mm long and 1,958 mm wide. It has a height of 1,658 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The carmaker will open its order books by the end of 2023 and expects first deliveries to take place in early 2024. Shortly after the launch in Europe, HiPhi plans to continue its global expansion in the Middle East.

As reported, HiPhi plans to bring its X and Z models to Europe as early as 2023. To this end, the manufacturer now announces that the first two European showrooms are planned in Munich, Germany and Oslo, Norway. The vehicles can also be ordered via the company’s website and the upcoming app.
