Hybrid Corvette battery considered “risky” by National Council

The hybrid Corvette E-Ray is now officially banned from competing at events sanctioned by the National Council of Corvette Clubs. If an owner wants to take it there anyways, they will be required to park at least 30 feet away from other cars and buildings.

This is because the E-Ray has a 1.9-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that the organizers (as well as likely their insurers) deemed too risky to have on the track and near anything else.
