Cintas orders 30 electric delivery vans from Motiv Power Systems

US American BEV commercial vehicle chassis manufacturer Motiv Power Systems has announced a new vehicle order from Cintas for 30 additional battery-electric delivery vans.

Motiv’s decision to expand its relationship with Cintas follows a successful pilot test of seven Motiv-powered vehicles across three US states in 2022. The new order of 30 Motiv trucks will be deployed on existing Cintas routes and brings the number of Motiv-powered EVs in the Cintas fleet to 37 vehicles driving daily routes across Michigan, New York, and California.

Motiv Power Systems had only introduced the new generation of their electric truck chassis a week ago, built in cooperation with Nidec for the drive system. The medium-duty electric truck can reach ranges of up to 200 miles, according to the manufacturer, with an efficiency said to surpass that of combustion engine vehicles.

“We’re proud to support Cintas in every area of the relationship, whether it’s procuring funding for vehicles, meeting with the field team for ongoing training and program improvements, driving operational cost savings and ultimately freeing their fleet from fossil fuels” said Tim Krauskopf, CEO of Motiv Power Systems. Motiv adds that it has helped Cintas reduce its GHG emissions by 37 metric tonnes since the initial pilot programme in the communication.
