HiPhi inaugurates ‘Brand Experience Centre’ in Bavaria

The premium electric car brand HiPhi from the Chinese manufacturer Human Horizons opened its first European branch. The so-called HiPhi Hub is located at Munich Airport and is supposed to be only the beginning. Further hubs are planned in Oslo and other European cities.

HiPhi says it already has more than 100 such hubs in its home market in China and that its newest location in Germany “delivers a serene space for discovery and co-creation.” Visitors can look at the electric SUV HiPhi X and the electric coup#e HiPhi Z, which are already available to order in Germany (and Norway) since June. Moreover, “visitors can [also] experience […] the new HiPhi Y LuxTech SUV.”

According to the manufacturer, the HiPhi Y will “go on sale before the end of 2023”, while the Shanghai-based company does not comment on the market launch of the HiPhi Z.

HiPHi specialises in building luxury EVs. In its home market, the company presented the HiPhi X in 2020. HiPhi also announced that it will “deliver a bespoke after-sales experience” for customers in Germany and work together with an experienced service partner. Further details will follow shortly.

“The opening of our first European HiPhi Hub is a significant moment as we bring the best-selling premium EV brand in China to an all-new market,” says HiPhi’s CTO and co-founder, Mark Stanton. “We know the product and the brand are strong because of the enormous success in China, but we want to ensure that we carefully translate a real luxury experience to European customers and this is the first step in that journey.”

The electric SUV HiPhi X will be offered in Germany at prices starting at 109,000 euros as a six-seater and 123,000 euros as a four-seater. The second model, the HiPhi Z, will go on sale in Germany at 105,000 euros as a five-seater and 107,000 euros as a four-seater. The smaller electric HiPhi Y SUV, presented in April, will be available as a third model before the end of the year.

The four- or six-seater HiPhi X features two electric motors with 220 kW each at the front and rear, a 97-kWh battery pack, a range of 460 kilometres according to WLTP, and acceleration to 100 kph in 3.9 seconds. The model’s luxury features include touch-free opening gullwing doors. In China, the HiPhi X also comes with a Meridian audio system with 17 speakers, a 19.9-inch front passenger entertainment screen, and a customisable smart fragrance system. Whether these features will also be offered in Europe is not yet clear.

According to HiPhi, the E-Coupé Z is an “electric luxury GT” that went into production in China in 2022. It comes in a two-motor version with a maximum output of 494 kW and houses a 120 kWh battery with cell-to-pack technology on board. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph takes 3.8 seconds, and Human Horizons gives the WLTP range as 555 kilometres. European customers can choose between a four- and five-seat configuration of the vehicle.
